Dallas Police Help Dedicate 2 More Dream Courts

Plano, Texas — September 6, 2017 — Nancy Lieberman Charities and WorldVentures Foundation teamed with the Dallas Police Department to dedicate two Dream Courts in Dallas to foster the relationship between officers and the communities they serve. The occasion comes just over a month after the opening of two Dream Courts at Kiest Park during the Day of Remembrance on July 7. The Dream CourtsTM program builds top-quality, multipurpose play spaces in underserved communities so children have a safe area to shoot hoops, socialize and learn about teamwork and good sportsmanship.

The openings on August 24 and August 29 bring the total number of Dream Courts in Dallas to 6, and nationwide to 42. The new courts are located at Fair Oaks Park, 7600 Fair Oaks, and Pemberton Hill Park, 6424 Elam Road. David Campisi, owner of Campisi’s Italian Restaurant, donated to the Fair Oaks court, and the Jon, Julie & Jack Frankel Foundation provided financial support for the Pemberton Hill court.

"We are honored to partner with Nancy Lieberman Charities and serve the children of Dallas by creating these exceptional Dream Courts in their parks,” said Gwyneth Lloyd, executive director, WorldVentures Foundation.

Representatives of the Dallas Police Department, Dallas City Council and Sport Court — the company that crafted and installed the play spaces — were among the dignitaries present. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, children participated in an open-court “shootaround” with Dallas Police. Campisi’s Italian Restaurant donated refreshments.
