DreamCourt Opening in Washington, D.C.

Plano, Texas — October 23, 2017  A new outdoor Dream Court was unveiled at the Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus (THEARC) in Washington, D.C. on October 10, 2017. WorldVentures Independent Representative Lauretta Miles served as emcee and led the fundraising efforts for this court. Dream Courts, a collaboration between Nancy Lieberman Charities, WorldVentures Foundation and Sport Court®, are multipurpose courts where children in challenged communities can play sports and forge friendships. To date, there are 46 nationwide.

“I was born in Washington, D.C., and I raised my children in Southeast D.C.,” said Lauretta. “Consequently, in the spirit of giving back to, and supporting Southeast D.C., I am excited to announce a community oriented basketball court in Southeast D.C. On this court ― made of body-friendly, manmade materials ― the youth from Southeast D.C. can develop skills and abilities needed to become future leaders of the community. And hopefully, this will be the seed or motivation for them to become successful and contribute back to their community.”

7th district Metropolitan Police Department, Captain John Haines; executive director, THEARC, Rahsaan Bernard; executive director, WorldVentures Foundation Gwyneth Lloyd; and representatives of the Boys & Girls Club FBR Club at THEARC were among the dignitary’s present.
